Hi I’m Katy,
I live in Reigate with my husband and our 2 children. I started working with children with SEN at a young age, first volunteering at summer play schemes and then working at a local Respite Home. From an early age I have enjoyed the challenge of finding out what motivates people and how to get the best from them. I continue to enjoy applying these skills to working with children with Speech and Language difficulties and helping them to develop and improve their communication skills.
I qualified as a speech and language therapist in 2003 and have since then worked in both the NHS and Private sectors within paediatrics. I have worked in a variety of different educational settings from mainstream schools in Surrey to mainstream schools within the Greater London area. I have also worked in clinics, Special school settings and within clients homes.
Currently I am employed by 2 schools in the Reigate Area to provide Speech and Language Support to the students in the school. Alongside this I also have my own private caseload who I support in my home based Clinic in Reigate and in some local nurseries. I enjoy the mix of working with teachers and other professionals and then getting to know families and how to best provide support to their individual needs and learning styles.
I have significant experience within special needs, in particular clients with ASD, Downs Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and those using AAC.
